The TWS award show for the skate industry took place early this year on Thursday February 16th, at the Avalon in Hollywood California, bringing together the most talked about skaters, parts and videos from 2011. The show, presented by New Era and voted on by Transworld's readers, were announced and awarded in each category followed by the release of Transworld's 24th video. The Cinematographer Project by Jon Holland took street skating to a whole other visual element and environments, progressing the art of filming skateboarding in new directions of inspiration.
The private industry event awarded both skate legend Jason Jessee and the most recognizable names in the business. Taking home an astounding 3 awards this year for Best Video Part in Rise & Shine, Best Street, and New Era's Reader's Choice Award, Nyjah Huston walked away feeling pretty good, but hey, long time in the coming and not a surprise at all. Best Team went to Real for their obvious drop of the Since Day One video released in April of 2011. While the Best Video category fell to Nike SB’s SB Chronicles, Vol. 1.

Videos not to be missed and available now, both Skate Sauce's Hard Times premiering in 2011 but released early this year and the highly nominated The Sk8mafia Video. Oh, and of course a shout out to Beagle, who was mentioned numerous times throughout the awards. In the works we are waiting to see what the Laced skate team has in store for 2012, in production now with parts from Sean Sheffey, Jake Brown, Peter Smolik and way more! Heavy anticipation on that.
