Seattle Sounders FC (4-2-1) remained unbeaten on the road with 2-1 victory over Chivas USA (1-3-3).

The road win leaves the FC Sounders in sole second place in the Western Conference

Keeping with their late season drama, Seattle Sounders FC spotted the home team a lead when Chivas USA forwarded Erik Torress converted a penalty with just 4 four minutes and seventeen seconds gone in the match.

Chivas USA was given the spot kick due to Seattle Sounders FC defender Osvaldo Alonso's tackle on Chivas USA forward Leandro Barrera.

After spotting the visitor ‘s the one goal lead Sounders FC switched to attack mode by executing crisp middle of the field passes accompanied by wide penetrating runs to attack the Chivas defense.

With the one man advantage Seattle Sounders FC turned on their turbo boosters and were rewarded for there take no prisoners mentality.

In the 81 minute Sounders FC forward Obefami Martins chipped the ball over Chivas USA goal keeper Dan Kennedy after a slide rule like penetrating pass from Clint Dempsey to give FC Sounders the game winner .
“ We are making costly mistakes and we have to improve that mentality,” Chivas USA Coach Wilmer Cabrera said after the game.
