On Saturday, March 23, the annual Wings and Wildlife Festival on the Colorado River will be held in the neighboring communities of Bullhead City, Ariz. and Laughlin, Nev.
Sponsored jointly by the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and the National Park Service, Mohave County Parks, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and Clark County Parks and Recreation, the festival features organized hikes, bird walks, river kayaking and workshops on photography and nature, sketching and wildlife watching. Booths and displays will be set up at Davis Camp in Bullhead City and at the Pyramid Day Use Area and at the Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trail in Laughlin.
Activities will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Special events for children ages 1 – 15 will be offered between 10:00 a.m. and noon. Additionally, there will be live reptiles on hand and visits from Smokey Bear and Puddles the Blue Goose.
