The original Jethro's BBQ, located near Drake University at 3102 Forest Avenue, will host their annual Wing Ding on Saturday, June 21. This year's event will again benefit the Animal Rescue League. Wing Ding 2014 will run from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and it will feature a wing eating contest, live music from Des Moines bands Rebyl Road and Pie in the Sky, a DJ, a dunk tank, and wings from eleven area restaurants. Tickets to the event are $10, and they can be purchased at any of the area Jethro's locations (Drake, Johnston, Ankeny, Altoona, and Waukee) or through the Animal Rescue League's website.

Your $10 gets you six wings from any of the participating restaurants, and more may be purchased at any time. Preparing wings for the benefit this year will be Sakari Sushi Lounge, The Stuffed Olive (formerly The Standard Martini Bar), Buffalo Wild Wings, GoodSons, Saints Pub & Patio, Twin Peaks, Wheel House Pizzeria & Pub, Quinton's Bar & Deli, The Keg Stand, Okoboji Grill, and of course, Jethro's BBQ. Patrons are encouraged to vote for their favorite wings.
