We are rapidly approaching Winefest Des Moines 2014, which will kick off on May 31. To tide you over until the end of the month, Winefest organizers have one last Wine Flights event scheduled. "Wine Flights: Dinner Party Wine Pairing" will take place on May 15 at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar (located at 150 South Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines) starting at 6 p.m. The event will be $40 per person, and tickets may be purchased online through MidwesTix. [Please note that there were only a few tickets left at the time of this article's publishing.] You must be 21 or older to participate in this event.

"Wine Flights: Dinner Party Wine Pairing" is designed to help one conquer the difficult task of setting up menus and wines to complement each other. Representatives from Fleming's will walk patrons through the "ins and outs of wine pairing" and give them tips for dinner party planning. Ticketholders will taste their way through a sample four-course meal where each course paired with two contrasting wines. Patrons will learn what to look for and what to avoid to please the palates of their guests and themselves. They will also learn guidelines as to how much wine to have on hand, how to time dinner, and other valuable tips.
