Winefest Des Moines 2014 does not kick off until May 31, but that does not mean that you have to wait until then to get your wine fix. Winefest has a Wine Flights event (sponsored by Ernst & Young) scheduled for Thursday, April 17 that still has tickets available. Thursday's "Wine Flights: Wasabi & Wine" is designed to teach you wine pairings for Asian cuisine, from sushi to pad thai and red curry to banh mi. Tickets to the event are $40, and they may be purchased online through MidwesTix. You must be 21 or older to attend.

"Wine Flights: Wasabi & Wine" will be held at the Willis Infiniti showroom at 2101 NW 100th Street in Clive from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will feature Asian cuisine prepared by award-winning Chef Dom Iannarelli of Splash Seafood Bar & Grill, and Ben Jung of Ingersoll Wine & Spirits will be on hand to help you find a wine to complement each dish. For more information on the Ernst & Young Wine Flights series, or any other Winefest event, go to the Winefest Des Moines website.
