The Parker Downtown Development Council (DDC) continues the 2010 season of Old Town Wine Walks in Parker CO

Want to have an inexpensive way to hang out with friends, meet the business owners and sample 15 different wines? Well the Parker DDC has just the thing for you. This weekend, Friday and Saturday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. come down to Mainstreet and enjoy this new Town of Parker tradition. The Old Town Wine Walks are similar to a progressive dinner, only instead of meals, Parker neighbors and friends move from business to business to sample different types of wine. While sampling, people are encouraged to talk to the owners and see what each unique business has to offer. Many of the local business owners even serve finger foods like cheese, crackers and chocolate to pair with the wine.

Each participant receives a map of Historic Old Town Parker which shows each Wine Walk ‘Stop’, a commemorative tasting wine glass to keep, 15 tokens to trade for 15 wine samples, and special offers to local businesses. (The maps are honestly a little confusing even to old-timers, so just ask if you get a little confused, possibly the wine makes it confusing!) Cost is $10 per person.

Each event will have different businesses participating and different wines to sample so come on down to Mainstreet and meet and greet your neighbors on the last Friday and Saturday of each month May through October.

Time: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Only three weekends left in 2010, don't miss out.

August 20th & 21st, September 24th & 25th, and October 29th & 30th.

The Parker DDC is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to increase the quality of Parker’s historic downtown area. They accomplish this by bringing local businesses, landowners, and the Town of Parker together to provide a more enjoyable, vibrant, and viable downtown for the Parker citizens, community, and businesses. Several other events they put on include the Smokin’ Brew BBQ, CarFest, Wine and Music Festival, and Holiday Carriage Rides.
