Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration at Museum of Discovery and Science

The Museum of Discovery and Science will host its 18th Annual Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration on Friday, April 5, 2013. The event is presented by Bank of America and all proceeds benefit the Museum.

Last year’s Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration set an attendance record, with over 2,000 guests. It was the first year that spirits and craft beers were introduced, with the benefit of additional space provided by the Museum’s recent expansion. This year’s event will seek to top that record, showcasing a sequence of champagne, spirits or wine with food pairings, each bound to delight, educate and entertain guests and their palates. The highlights of the evening are tastings from nearly 50 of South Florida’s leading restaurants, and a vast array of wines and spirits from around the world, courtesy of beverage sponsor Southern Wine and Spirits. Guests will also have an opportunity to bid on some amazing silent auction prizes. Each guest also receives a complimentary Reidel wine glass.

The evening will start off with an exclusive VIP Martini Reception from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. VIP guests will enjoy a champagne tasting with “Champagne Wayne” paired with a culinary demonstration featuring a well-known chef. The VIP evening concludes with exclusive access to the ultra chic Hilton Fort Lauderdale VIP Lounge to eat, drink and dance under the stars from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Doors open for VIP admission at 6:00 p.m. and to general admission at 7:30 p.m. VIP tickets are $150 per person and general admission tickets are $85 per person. Presale tickets are available at a reduced rate until March 1, 2013 with VIP tickets reduced to $135 per person and general admission tickets reduced to $75 per person. For advance tickets please call (954) 713-0954 or buy them on-line.

Highlighting the evening are tastings from some of South Florida’s top restaurants, expected to include such long standing participants as 3030 Ocean, The Capital Grille, D’Angelo’s, Casa D'Angelo Ristorante, Ilios@ Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, Johnny V’s, Market 17, Via Luna at the Ritz-Carlton, Grille 401, ROK:BRGR, SoLita, Tarpon Bend, Grill 401, Sea Level Restaurant and Ocean Bar, Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six, The Melting Pot, Trulucks, and YOLO Restaurant. Guests will vote for their favorite restaurant which will win the honor of the “Peoples’ Choice Award”.
