You can't leave this warm summer behind without trying another dry rosé at the patio picnic table. The Curtis Heritage Rose 2012 (Santa Barbara County) version is light in color, almost like pink Kool-Aid. The nose is inviting with aromatics of strawberry, raspberry and watermelon.
The flavors pretty much follow the nose but with just the slightest hint of herbs, cucumber and white pepper, like something you might find in a refreshing and savory cocktail as a grace note.
While it seems a bit lightweight on entry, the flavors build up and accumulate on the palate to make a substantial impact. Delicious to the last drop.
