Ditch the holiday crowds and enjoy a wine and chocolate event at Jonathan Edwards Winery on Black Friday instead.
Staring into the glowing maniacal grin of a pumpkin-shaped bucket of half-eaten generic Halloween candy, your heart begins to beat faster. The panic sets in. Holiday songs begin to play un-invited in the recesses of your mind. I'm dreaming of a…mommy kissing Santa Claus…in a one-horse open sleigh. NO! Stop right there. For sanity's sake, take a deep breath and let it out slowly along with that unbidden mixed-up holiday tune.
Halloween may be behind us, but the holiday season is just beginning. Instead of letting the familiar mad rush of the holidays take hold, why not indulge in something a little more enjoyable and way less stressful instead. Besides, there'll be plenty of time to stress about the holidays later.
When you realize, for example, as it's being opened, that you forgot to buy the batteries, for that must-have toy. And, by the way, there will not be a store open nearby that doesn't charge more for the batteries than the cost of the original toy. But, I digress. Treating yourself during the holidays this year might just make getting through them a little more enjoyable.
