This year’s Wine Festival in Bernalillo, just outside of Albuquerque, was a delightful and tasteful experience to those who attended over the Labor Day weekend. Numerous New Mexico wineries participated to share their wines with people from all over the state. The festival had a lineup of lively local entertainment, community vendors, and a fun play area for the kids complete with a petting zoo making it a worthy event for the whole family.
If this year’s event was missed, Albuquerque is the home to some of wineries who were at the festival. Local wineries such as St. Claire, Gruet, and Casa Rondena have wine tasting available. Check their websites to find out hours of operations and driving directions.
Plans for the 2014 Wine Festivals in Albuquerque and Bernalillo are already underway for the avid wine lover. In the meantime, there are plenty of beautiful vineyards to visit and various types of delicious wine to sample.
