Wine & Dine to help CDHS raise money for the care of 50 dogs and 70 cats
Central Dakota Humane Society

The Central Dakota Humane Society is holding a wine tasting event on Thursday, June 19 beginning at 6:30 p.m at the Harvest Brazilian Grill in Mandan, ND. Eleven different red and white wines will be available for tasting as well as a variety of appetizers. Some of the appetizers include bruschetta, Parmesan encrusted pork tenderloin, sirloin kabob, sausage, roasted pineapple, and shredded spicy beef mini sandwiches.

When asked why CDHS chose the Harvest Harvest Brazilian Grill, Mandy Schaaf, the volunteer organizer for the Central Dakota Humane Society, says, "The Harvest Harvest Brazilian Grill has been so wonderful to work with on this event. They have worked with us and helped us promote the event and CDHS is so appreciative of their ongoing support. Edgar has a passion for his craft and his knowledge and experience has been a great help to us with this event."

Christy Zainhofsky, an Origami Owl custom jewelry independent designer, will be at the event. Schaaf says, "Origami Owl jewelry is "living lockets" and can be designed and customized by using avialbable charms that match any lifestyle and activities." Zainhofsky will be donating part of her proceeds to CDHS.

This is the third annual wine tasting event and they expect over 75 attendees as the event is continuing to grow. All proceed will assist CDHS with the care of the 50 dogs and 70 cats currently at their facility. Events like these are important for CDHS because they don't receive any federal, state or local governmental funding. Schaaf says, "We rely on our members and supporters, fundraisers and a few small grants that we receive throughout the year to fund our operations."

Tickets purchased in advance are $50 and tickets purchased at the door will be $55. Tickets can be purchased at the shelter, by calling 667-2020, or online at
