After a bright and sunny start to the weekend, a warm front will bring some more clouds to the picture today across the region. As the front passes through the region by later this morning and early this afternoon the skies will brighten a bit. In addition, a strong southerly wind will increase through this time, bringing some milder air into the region.
A weakening cold front will press eastward this evening, and pass through the region during the overnight period. A few showers are possible with the passage of this system. High pressure will build in for the start of the new work week, and despite the cold frontal passage, temperatures will not exhibit that much of a cool down. In fact, temperatures may run as much as 10 to 15 degrees above seasonal averages over the course of the coming week.
As the new work week begins, the weak cold front mentioned above is forecast to stall over the mid Atlantic states, and looks to lift back northward toward the region, as a warm front, on Monday night. This general pattern looks to repeat itself again during the midweek period as nearly identical circumstances are indicated for the Wednesday into Friday time span.
The unsettled conditions look to finally abate as we head into next weekend. High pressure settles southward from central Canada during the day on Friday, causing the system that is forecast to bring the unsettled weather to the area for the bulk of the work week to be kicked to the east.
