We posted our initial review of the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet a couple days back. Today, Microsoft has announced that the Surface Pro tablet will be released on February 9.
The 64GB version will cost $899 and the 128GB version will go for $999. The keyboard cover costs $99 extra. Many people believe that the Surface Pro is priced too high for a tablet, but they don't understand the fact that it isn't an iPad or Galaxy Nexus competitor; it is a full-blown computer. In reality, it is more reasonable to compare it to the MacBook Air.
One thing is for sure -- the Surface RT tablet, released last November, will be completely forgotten about. Sales for the Surface RT have been underwhelming and many users don't want a dumbed-down version of Microsoft Windows. The Surface Pro will run a full version of Windows 8. It really has the ability to change the computing industry.
