According to The Verge as of January 23rd, 2013, citing multiple confidential sources that are only rumors at this point that Nokia is already working on a new Windows smartphone code named "EOS" that puts all current Nokia Lumia models to shame.
Nokia has shouted from the roof tops the past year with the release of the Lumia 820 Windows smartphone and the Lumia 920. They have reaffirmed their position in the smartphone world that they once held a large part of. Both major models of the Nokia Lumia smart phones have been fairly well received. You would think that Windows and Nokia would be content to let the world become accustomed to these phones and puff out their chests for a job well done. Oh, no the Nokia "EOS" is now a possible glint on the horizon.
At the present time, little is known about the "EOS" smartphone. The rumors we do know is that the Nokia "EOS" will have an upgraded aluminum case from the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 plastic cases. One of the most notable features is a fully upgraded Pure View camera that is said to be along the lines of the camera found in Nokia's Pure View 808 smartphone. The Nokia "EOS" will rank in the top level of their smartphone line with an upgraded processor as well. Furthermore, wireless carrier AT&T will be the first to carry the "EOS" in 2013 if the rumors turn out to be true. In addition Nokia is working on a Cat Walk replacement for the newly released Lumia 920.
The smart phone world is like a mixture of the Flash and Superman. It moves so fast and will not easily be defeated or have any competition that even if you buy the phone the day it's released, manufacturers already have three new phones ready to replace it that will be put into production within six months as with the news of Nokia's "EOS" when the Lumia 920 was recently released. You have to wonder when will the peak be reached of smart phones no longer able to be the latest and greatest? Will we eventually replace our phones with Google Glasses? Holographic Heads up Display chips? Implants in our brain that do everything out phones do and more? It's thrilling and at the same time scary to see where the future of technology will lead us. Only time will tell.
