Win the newly released Astro Noughts math game!

Astro Noughts, the fast-paced math-in-space app that I wrote about recently, has gone live on the App store.  To celebrate, developer Christopher Waite is offering a free download to one reader here.

Luckily, at an introductory price of .99, it's easy to try the game even if you're not a winner.

I was looking forward to getting the game myself when it was released, since it sounds like something my kids would love.  The game is only for the iPad though, which we don't have here.

Minnesota homeschooling mother Nic first let me know about the app, saying that her husband had been following the blog about the game's development.  She said, "He likes it because (1) its from a small start up (2) it looks like it has the potential to be both fun and educational."

Here's some more information:

Set in the depths of space, you'll face wave after wave of planets hurtling towards you.

By calculating the correct mathematical expressions, you must collect as many planets as possible and avoid the space debris.

Fast paced, mental arithmetic is the order of the day.

Features:

24 Planets to unlock. Unlocked planets can be viewed through the in-game planetarium.

5 unique power-ups to collect. Mastering these will be crucial if you want to score big.

Post your best score to the in-game leaderboards. Can you beat your friends?

OpenFeint achievements.

Astro Noughts is available from the App Store now priced at just $0.99
