Jim Harbaugh spoke to the media on Monday afternoon and said that Patrick Willis is undergoing evaluation in regards to his groin injury.
The All-Pro linebacker suffered a groin injury in the third quarter when trying to tackle Colts WR Reggie Wayne. He isn't expected to recover in time for Thursday's game against the St. Louis Rams.
Harbaugh also said Vernon Davis will be examined for the second straight week in a row. Davis suffered a hamstring injury against the Seahawks and missed the game on Sunday against the Colts.
Lastly, Nnamdi Asomugha will be undergoing an MRI this week. The 11-year veteran cornerback injured his right knee when trying to tackle Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, the 49ers head coach stayed silent on what will happen to Aldon Smith. There was no comment on a corresponding move as the 49ers announced Smith has been placed on the non-football-injury list. He released the following statement on the third year OLB:
"We're in full support of Aldon [Smith]," Harbaugh said. "We did what we felt was in the best interest of the team and the player long-term. Aldon is taking steps and we support him in that."
