One wouldn’t expect to find Willie Nelson’s old tour bus for sale on Craigslist. Perhaps at a Jackson-Barrett auction, or even on Ebay? But the truth is that the bus, known as “Scout” (one of two identical vehicles custom made for the country legend’s entourage back in the 1980’s), set off a barrage of bids after it was posted on Craigslist last weekend, pumping the initial asking price of $29,999 above $65,000 by last night, even though Willie never rode on it himself.

According to a report in the Dallas Morning News, Johnny Temples, of Florida Coach, which customized the bus with its wooden panels, crushed red velvet curtains and front end banner stating 'WE LOVE WILLIE' on the front, stated that it was actually the bus used by Paul English. English, who served as Nelson’s “drummer and best friend for more than 50 years. It was also learned that it was later rechristend “Me & Paul,” after Nelson’s 1985 record of the same title, and bears a plaque inside stating as much. Another destinctive feature of the bus is the eagle flying in blue skies emblazoned its back. The rest of the Willie Nelson Band rode on a third bus called “The Red-Headed Stranger,” while crew members occupied one known as the “Warrior.”
