Willie Myrick is a junior church choir singer in the making. Nine-year-old Myrick’s repeated singing of a gospel tune while in the backseat of his kidnapper’s car was so discordant to the ears of his abductor, he was released. As they say, church ain't out till they quit singing, and little Myrick’s song just kept a’going.

According to a report from The Associated Press yesterday, as carried on MSN News, the Atlanta boy was abducted from his driveway on March 31 and tossed in the backseat by his kidnapper. The young boy was playing with his pet Chihuahua when the strange man drove up and used money to lure Myrick over to him. When he was close enough, the kidnapper grabbed him.

But Myrick said he remained calm and sang the gospel song “Every Praise” over and over. Eventually, the boy said that after cursing and repeatedly telling him to “shut up,” his captor kicked him out. “He opened the door and threw me out,” Willie said. “He told me not to tell anyone.”

Community leaders threw a celebratory meeting in honor of Myrick’s love of gospel, reports out of Atlanta. Myrick’s life-saving singing and incredible story caught the ears of Grammy Award-winning gospel singer Hezekiah Walker, who co-wrote “Every Praise” along with David Bratton. Walker traveled to Atlanta to meet the boy, who sang his song for three hours straight. Together, the duo performed the song that Myrick knows so well.

“It's just emotional to me because you never know who you're going to touch,” Walker said. “I just wanted to hug him and tell him I love him… I really believe God spoke through me to save that young man’s life.”

Reports 11alive: “Thursday evening, the singer entered the sanctuary of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church to a standing ovation, grabbing Willie into a tight hug as tears streamed down the boy's face. Walker then led the church, and Willie, in singing ‘Every Praise.’”

The lyrics of Every Praise include a few fitting phrases. “God, my Deliverer. Yes He is, yes He is.” The complete song lyrics:

Every praise is to our God.

Every word of worship with one accord

Every praise every praise is to our God.

Sing hallelujah to our God

Glory hallelujah is due our God

Every praise every praise is to our God.

God my Savior

God my Healer

God my Deliverer

Yes He is, yes He is

Every praise is to our God.

Every word of worship with one accord

Every praise every praise

Is to our God

Here is a YouTube video of Walker's "Every Praise" song. Atlanta police have a sketch of Myrick’s kidnapper and are actively pursuing leads. The carried the artist's sketch of the 9-year-old boy's abductor. He is described as a young African American with shoulder length dreadlocks. Investigators are asking that anyone with any information call CrimeStoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
