Williams to miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL

Lou Williams went home in the off-season to play for his hometown Atlanta Hawks.

In his first season, he will not even make half of the season, after tearing his ACL in his right knee. He will miss the rest of the season with this injury.

This will be a huge loss for the Hawks, as he was one of the better players coming off of the bench in the NBA. As a bench player for the Hawks this season, he was averaging 14.5 points per game in 28.7 minutes.

With Williams out, Devin Harris and Kyle Korver are expected to see additional playing time. Harris, in the past two games, is averaging 17.5 points, 4.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and has attempted 7 three pointers in each game.

He suffered the injury last night, which originally thought was a right knee sprain. Once being injured, he did not return against the Nets.

He went to the locker room in a wheelchair and the injury did not look good when it happened. He was going to the basket in transition when he collapsed shortly after attempting to jump in the air for a layup.

He played in 38 games with the Hawks this season, and was averaging 2.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
