Williams Showcased in Nationally-Televised Hoops Matchup

The 2013 Spalding Hoophall Classic began last week on January 17th. The last games were played yesterday January 21st. The classic was held at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts and featured a number of nationally-ranked high school basketball teams and players. A number of games were also televised nationally by ESPN.

Yesterday, 13th-ranked Oak Hill Academy (VA) played 14th-ranked Simeon Career Academy (IL). The game featured a number of highly ranked prospects, including Jabari Parker of Simeon, the second-ranked prospect in the 2013 ESPN Top 100. Oak Hill also featured local product, Troy Williams, the 33rd-ranked prospect. Williams is the nephew of local AAU guru, Boo Williams. Troy recently committed to the University of Indiana.

Led by Jabari Parker, Simeon defeated Oak Hill, 81-68. Parker, who has committed to play for Duke next year, Led Simeon in scoring with 28 points. Three other Simeon players finished in double figures. South Carolina commit, Sindarius Thornwell led Oak Hill in scoring with 27 points. Troy Williams finished with 11 points and also led Oak Hill in rebounding with eight rebounds. He connected on 4 of his 12 field goal attempts, including one three-pointer, and made 2 of his 4 free throw attempts.

Oak Hill’s next game will be a home contest versus Christian Faith Center on January 23. None of their remaining games will be televised nationally.
