Williams provides a rude homecoming as Nets beat Mavs

It was the show many Mavericks fans likely didn't want to see.

In his first game in Dallas since spurning the Maverick's free agent offer, local product Deron WIlliams took over with 31 points as the Brooklyn Nets beat the Mavs 113-96 at the American Airlines Center.

Williams wasn't even his team's leading scorer, as Brooke Lopez scored 38 for Brooklyn.

The Mavs led the game 32-22 after the first quarter. But it was all Brooklyn after that.

It was actually the Nets' bench that started the rally, as Keith Bogans and Andray Blatche combined to spark a 14-4 run to tie the game. Blatche had 14 in the second as the Nets brought the game even at 51 at halftime.

After that, it was all Williams, who score 24 points in the second half as Brooklyn outscored Dallas 62-45 from that point on.

The only good news is that the Mavs only lost a half game in the playoff race, down to 3 1/2 games behind the Lakers.
