Williams, Goldberg, Behar, O′Reilly, Ali, Stevens/Islam and Schiller, part 1

Within the two segments that make up this article we will consider Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Bill O′Reilly, Juan Williams, Muhammed Ali, Cat Stevens aka Yusuf Islam and Vivian Schiller.

The obviousness and subtlety of media bias are equally fascinating. This Albuquerque Examiner previously reported on Juan Williams, Islam, NPR and the PC Movement.

On the show “The View” Bill O′Reilly had stated that “Muslims killed us on 9/11.” This caused hostesses Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg to leave the stage. Joy Behar’s erudite elucidating comment was, “He's an idiot!” that it was “hate speech” because to say “Muslims killed us on 9/11” is “to lump an entire group.”

How so? He did not say that every Muslim in the world conspired and perpetrated the act. If Joy Behar can find evidence that anyone involved in the 9/11 attacks was not a Muslim, let her present the evidence. Until such as time it is a simple, unbiased, evidenced fact that “Muslims killed us on 9/11.” Those “Muslims killed us on 9/11.” It was the Muslims who killed us on 9/11 who are the “Muslims killed us on 9/11.”

To have a knee jerk reaction  (and a jerk-like reaction in general) to a factual statement is to have fallen victim to the politically correct (PC) movement. It means that one cannot make a factual statement such as “Muslims killed us on 9/11” because this is taken by the PC-ites to mean “All, every, each Muslim in the planet killed us on 9/11.” This is a ridiculous and emotive conclusion.

Think of it this way: what if some said, “men killed us on 9/11”? Would the conclusion be that this is lumping all “men” into the group of murderous terrorists?

What if some said, “Middle Easterners killed us on 9/11”? Would the conclusion be that this is lumping all “Middle Easterners” into the group of murderous terrorists?

What if some said, “black haired personages killed us on 9/11”? Would the conclusion be that this is lumping all “black haired personages” into the group of murderous terrorists?

You get the idea.

As previously reported, Juan Williams stated that when Muslims in garb board an airplane he gets nervous and worried. He elucidated thusly,

It is visceral, it’s a feeling. And I don’t say “I’m not getting on the plane,” I don’t say “you must go through additional security.”

I don’t say “I want to discriminate against those people.” No such thing occurs. So to me it was admitting that I have this notion, this feeling in the immediate moment.

For better or worse Juan Williams was, as Pink Floyd stated it, “caught red-handed showing feelings, showing feelings of an almost human nature—this will not do” (from “The Wall” album, “The Trial” song).

    and what of Jews?.

All the law suits in various cities and counties around the country which seek to ban Christmas trees and Easter bunnies are by Jews.

If Juan Williams had said... " I get very nervous around Jews - especially at Christmas - they are always filing lawsuits to ban our holidays. They are not truly part of our culture.... and ya know what? I don't trust them either - in business or government.

    any supporters???

Juan got caught in a net cast by jews - for other Jews.

Witness to Jewing of Rick Sanchez last month... and Helen Thomas before him.... both JEWED

and not a peep in media.

now... WHO decides what is Politically correct in this country? Ask a German and he'll tell you his sad history with this bunch.

    Thank for the comment.

Yeah and Jews are behind astroturf…they always hated grass.
Jew are behind ice…why do you think they call them ice“bergs”?
Jews are behind fineries…why do you think they call it “Jew”elry?

It is utterly false that “All the law suits in various cities and counties around the country which seek to ban Christmas trees and Easter bunnies are by Jews” as atheists and others are just as active in this area.

From the liberal perspective Williams is guilty of impugning all US Muslims who wear traditional garb. From a human perspective he was being realistic.

Hi Mariano. You are right, the statement "Muslims killed us on 9/11" is not inherently lumping all Muslims together. However, many of O'Reilly's comments about Muslims have come in context of his position that a Muslim community center should not be built near the World Trade Center, which means he is actually saying something more like, "Muslims in general should not be allowed to build a community center near where [certain] Muslims killed us on 9/11," or "Allowing Muslims as a whole to build a community center near where a small group of Muslims killed us is insensitive." To use your argument, that's like saying, "Specific black-haired people killed us here, so we should not allow black-haired people to build a communit center near here." That's the truly ridiculous and emotional conclusion.
