According to Ultimate Classic Rock on Sept. 9, it reported that William Shatner did his own galactic rendition of The Beatles song entitled "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". He did his own spin on the song which was entitled "The Transformed Man" in 1968.
Shatner talks the song as opposed to holding a tune while echo effects give it a more galactic feel along with supplied singers that performed the chorus. Upon listening to it, it sounds as if he's gone quite off his rocker.
John Lennon, who had originally written the piece, seemed to have inadvertently formed an acronym of the song title to LSD which was the mind altering drug of that time period. He had no idea that this was the case, but the BBC banned the song anyhow. Lennon stated the roots of the wording really goes back to a time when Lennon saw a picture that his son had drawn and had actually derived the song from that.
