William and Mary women beat Temple

The William and Mary women’s gymnastics team won against Temple at a home meet on Sunday afternoon.

William and Mary posted a team total of 194.575 and Temple posted a 191.650.

The Tribe was strong on vault and swept the apparatus. Freshman Brittany Stover scored the team high of 9.825 and took first. Senior Jennifer Ware placed second with a 9.750 and freshman Alyssa Glass finished in third, posting a 9.675.

The team also swept uneven bars. Sophomore Stacia Ruse, junior Jessica Pritchard and Stover tied for first, all posting 9.825.

Balance beam brought no struggles as the team took the top three spots. Stover took first with a 9.800. Junior Larson Lasek placed second with a 9.775 and Pritchard tied for third with a 9.725.

The only apparatus the William and Mary women did not dominate was floor exercise. Sophomore Maggie Lundeen took first with a 9.825 while Pritchard placed second with a 9.800.

The Tribe did, however, take the top three spots in the all-around. Pritchard took first with a total of 39.000. Lasek and Stover tied for second, each posting a total of 38.825.

The William and Mary women will compete in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Ithaca on Saturday, March 23.
