William and Mary men win dual meet

The William and Mary men won a dual meet against Springfield at Springfield on Sunday afternoon.

This is the second dual meet the Tribe has won this season.

William and Mary posted a team total of 408.050 while Springfield posted 400.400.

On floor exercise, the Tribe posted the top three scores to sweep the apparatus. Freshman Neal Courter placed first with a 14.300 followed by freshman Keaton Ackerman who took second with a 14.150 and junior Landon Funiciello took third with a 13.800.

The team also placed in the top three on vault. Courter won the apparatus with a 14.150 followed by junior Daniel Potemski in second with a 14.100 and sophomore Michael Deitz in third with a 13.900.

On pommel horse, they scored a record team total of 67.500. Sophomore Jason Wang scored the team high with a 13.900.

Still rings were also very successful for the Tribe. Funiciello placed second on the apparatus with a 15.300, which was also the team high. Potemski took third with a 14.500.

As on vault and floor, the team placed in the top three on parallel bars. Funiciello won with a 14.800, Potemski took second with a 14.000 and senior Kris Yeager placed third with a 13.600.

High bar was also victorious for the Tribe. Potemski and Courter won, both scoring 13.700. Deitz took third with a 13.400.

In the all-around, Potemski won with a total of 83.200 and Ackerman placed second with a 78.700.

The next meet for the William and Mary men will be against Navy at Navy on Saturday, March 9.
