William and Mary men win against Navy

The William and Mary men’s gymnastics team won against Navy on Saturday afternoon.

The Tribe posted a season high team total of 420.50 while Navy, who hosted the meet, totaled 407.050.

William and Mary also posted season highs on floor exercise, vault, high bar and still rings.

Freshman Neal Courter scored the team high of 15.300 on floor exercise. Courter also scored the team high on vault, posting a 14.750.

Sophomore Jason Wang posted the top score on pommel horse with a 13.600, which also placed him second on the apparatus. Senior Kris Yeager and sophomore Peter Ten Eyck tied for third, both posting 13.400.

Junior Landon Funiciello scored the team high on still rings and won the apparatus with a 15.500. Junior Daniel Potemski took second, scoring a 14.800.

The Tribe swept parallel bars where Funiciello once again scored the team high with a 14.050 and won the apparatus. Junior Sam Patterson took second, posting a 14.000. Yeager placed third with a 13.800.

The team also swept high bar. Courter posted the team high and won the apparatus with a 14.450. Potemski and sophomore J.J. Jindra tied for second, both posting 14.200.

In the all-around, Potemski took first with a total of 83.200. Freshman Keaton Ackerman placed second with 81.550. Junior Chris Junghans of Navy placed third with 81.500.

The next meet for the William and Mary men will be a home meet against Navy on Saturday, March 16.
