USERL-Central Piedmont (United States Equine Rescue League) is asking you to take a moment to send a Valentine card to Sarge.

If each reader sends a Valentine with just $1 in it, USERL can raise the funds for the eye surgery Sarge needs. In addition to knowing you helped make a difference in Sarge's life, the sweetheart who sends the most creative Valentine to Sarge will receive a USERL T-Shirt!

Starved to the brink of death, Sarge was rescued by USERL in the nick of time. He wore an embedded pony-size halter that scarred his handsome face.  He had an untreated barbed wire laceration on his leg. He had lost the vision in his right eye due to an untreated injury.

One year later, this fine old gentleman has gained approx. 600 pounds, his wounds have healed, and his coat is gleaming with good health and vitality. He recently appeared at a costume party fundraiser for the USERL, dressed as a pirate with an eye patch.  His happy disposition charmed the audience.

Generous donations from horse lovers to the USERL provided his second chance at life. Your “Valentine For Sarge” donations will pay for the eye surgery he needs to relieve his discomfort.  A similar fundraiser a few years ago raised the funds needed to help Hudson, another of USERL's success stories.
