Will Wyoming Gov. Freudenthal succumb to Obama's new education priorities?

This question isn't that far off considering Freudenthal's alignment with Obama on issues like international green building codes, climate change, energy and let us not forget this - Frudenthal said about Obama's Second Amendment positions "He's in the right place with it," and "Remember, rights are not unlimited".

Recently while in Milwaukee, President Obama dangled $5 billion in federal grants to states willing to undertake a top-to-bottom overhaul of their schools in support of White House priorities.

No doubt this will be another central government power grab and what better way than to further indoctrinate Americas youth. In a telephone interview after the speech, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said "Obama came to Wisconsin 'to highlight the opportunity Wisconsin has to break through' and to support initiatives put forward by [Wisconsin Governor] Doyle". It also appears they want to give the Mayor of Milwaukee control of the school districts.

Similar to the Obama Administrations take on health-care, the education push is also without much detail. Although you can be sure Obama's plan is to encourage more governmental control in education.

Obama said: he would "push for funding in the No Child Left Behind law to be more effectively tied to results".

However in other states that bought into this same type of policy found that students were being taught only to pass a test and this goal consumed the teaching curriculum. The truth is Milwaukee has become a hot spot for lawmakers with their hand out for government control.

You can tell a lot by the way Milwaukee leadership stands on the second amendment. I also argue that it is an agenda of "educators" to indoctrinate America's youth to have a total disregard for the Bill of Rights.

In an article, Why Aren’t Schools Teaching Our Children Their Rights and Freedoms? by John W. Whitehead he states this:

"Despite the millions of taxpayer dollars spent on education, our schools do a poor job of teaching the basic freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights"

Since ground zero for federal education reform was newly revealed in Wisconsin let's start there. Earlier this year in response to law abiding citizens carrying firearms, Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn said "My message to my troops is if you see anybody carrying a gun on the streets of Milwaukee, we'll put them on the ground, take the gun away and then decide whether you have a right to carry it”.

This came after the Wisconsin Attorney General stated that “ it's legal to openly carry a gun on the street in Wisconsin and advised prosecutors that merely having a gun doesn't, by itself, warrant a disorderly conduct charge”.

You should note that in Wisconsin does not allow law abiding citizens to conceal-carry and open carry is the only option. With such a hostile message to law abiding citizens its no wonder the crime is off the charts.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett belongs to New York City Mayor Bloomberg's Mayors Against Guns coalition despite record numbers of unarmed citizens being murdered in his city. Further up the food chain Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle Vetoed a bill that would allow conceal-carry, Doyle said “allowing citizens to carry concealed weapons would threaten the safety of police officers and the general public”.

Back to education, one could argue that there isn't one in this bunch that can read since the Wisconsin Constitution clearly states in Article I, Section 25 - The people have the right to keep and bear arms for security, defense, hunting, recreation or any other lawful purpose. In the end Milwaukee is the perfect storm and easy pickings for the Obama Administration to wield its power over an unarmed public.

When our society fails to teach our youth about the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights, America's youth have been dealt the greatest injustice possible.

Will Wyoming's politicians get week knees when they see the dangling carrot to reform Wyoming's education system?

Will they take the money over substance?

Like Governor Freudenthal the NEA (National Education Association) also endorsed Obama and appear to be just as radical.
