Some fight fans had speculated that a romance might be brewing between War Machine and Hyatt, after the two exchanged flirtatious back-and-forth tweets over the past several months.
War Machine denies having anything to do with the separation, despite the UG reporting it.
"Just for the record @RowdyBec 's hubby did not leave her because she tweets me too much, the @theUG is dumb, pretty sure she left him," War Machine tweeted.
War Machine couldn't help himself from adding a bit of a flirty tweet on top of that though, which didn't quite put the rest the rumor that he has a mild crush on her.
"AND if I had to guess WHY she left him, I'd say @RowdyBec left because she'd rather be MY Twitter/MMA wife than his REAL wife. #EDUCATEDGUESS," War Machine added.
As for Hyatt, she didn't announce full details on the breakup, noting only that she has indeed broken up with Dan Hyatt.
"Just wanted to briefly touch base on some gossip going around the Aussie MMA scene lately.. Yes I separated from my husband Dan 3 weeks ago, it was the best thing to do for myself the kiddies and Dan but don't fear guys I'm 100% focused on my upcoming fight on @Invicta Fighting Championships and promise to bring you ridiculously stylish violence as always," Hyatt posted on Facebook.
For now, the friendly tweets between War Machine and Hyatt appear to be nothing more than cutesy flirting.
War Machine says he has a girlfriend, and Hyatt is not likely to be looking for love so soon out of a long-term relationship.
As of June 5, War Machine has stated that Hyatt is basically just his "Twitter wife," which hints that the relationship is confined to the online space. Time will tell how the relationship between War Machine and Hyatt plays out.
