Will Hillary Clinton run for president in 2016? One winery will drink to that idea. Today, (Sept. 18) Clinton Vineyards unveiled Victory White 2012, a seyval blanc with a political agenda: "We're uncorking this new wine to demonstrate our hope that Hillary will run for the presidency in 2016," said Phyllis Feder, owner of Clinton Vineyards. "We invite her supporters across the country to join this effort."
Clinton Winery vintages are a popular choice at upstate New York restaurants, such as Terrapin Restaurant in Rhinebeck, NY. The release of Victory White 2012 is the latest chapter in a Clinton Vineyards tradition of support for Bill and Hillary Clinton that dates back 23 years. Victory White was first released in 1992, inspired by Bill Clinton's election. It was released again in 1996 to celebrate his re-election. In 2008, Victory White returned to support Hillary Clinton in her quest to become the Democratic candidate for the presidency. And, the wine was given a gift to guests at Chelsea Clinton's wedding in 2010.
"Here at Clinton Vineyards, Hillary Clinton has been a favorite since she was First Lady," Phyllis Feder added. "She continued to shine as New York State Senator, where she supported the state's wine industry and she showed both might and wisdom as Secretary of State. We uncork Victory White with the fervent hope that Hillary throws her hat into the ring. We urge everybody to toast Hillary with Victory White, the perfect wine for celebrating all victories, large and small."
As part of the Victory White 2012 campaign, Phyllis Feder will make a generous contribution to the Ready for Hillary PAC. "The staff of Ready for Hillary PAC would like to thank the team at Clinton Vineyards for their support and their enthusiasm for Hillary's potential candidacy," said Hillary Executive Director Adam Parkhomenko. "We look forward to tasting Victory White 2012 for ourselves in the near future and we dream of the day when we can toast to the election of Hillary Clinton as president," said Parkhomenko.
