Will there be mail delivery on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, MLK Day?

San Francisco residents are getting ready for the big game this afternoon between the 49ers and Seattle. But many are already thinking of the errands that they plan to do tomorrow.

No mail on MLK Day.

If your to-do list includes the Post Office or has the expectation of mail service, forget about it. Post Offices will be closed and their will be no mail delivery on MLK Day. Mail will resume and the Post Offices will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014.

But once again, don't bother checking your mailbox on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014. There will be no mail service on the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr holiday. Mail delivery will resume on Tuesday.

Most banks will also be closed on MLK Day, but some businesses will be open. Those businesses will have to hold on to their mail or use Fed Ex or UPS because the Post Office won't pick up or deliver mail until Tuesday.
