Families plan for a long time to finance, time and book their Walt Disney World vacation. In many cases, it may be the only opportunity that the family will have to enjoy the Disney World Resort with their young children.
Unfortunately, many Florida travelers do not realize that summer is the rain season for the state. With this being said, it is not surprising for a portion of your afternoon to be greeted with a rain shower or thunder storm.
I have a little secret to share with you that little Disney World visitors know! The answer to the question: Will rain wash out your Disney World afternoon and parade? The answer is " No!" It is common for visitors to purchase a Walt Disney World Rain Poncho while facing the afternoon shower. A great tip to families is to bring along your own poncho. You can purchase them year around for as little as fifty cents. You may even opt to bring along rain gear. The Walt Disney World Parks do offer pay for use lockers. Just keep in mind that the lockers are often located in the front of the theme park entrance. You may be caught in the rain on the other side of the park. I would recommend bring along some light weight folded rain ponchos. You can easily house the ponchos in your carry bag, diaper bag or backpack.
As for the parade, many children and adults alike look forward to the magical Disney World parades! The great news is that if you happen to find yourself trapped in a rain storm in the "Most Magical Place on Earth" (WDW), the show will still go on. The Magic Kingdom of the Walt Disney World Resort offers an alternative parade for rainy weather! The parade will still go on with adorable rainy day fashion. The parade participants will dance through Main Street wearing adorable yellow and blue rain coats and boots! The show will be magical, exciting, wet and still just as special!
Keep in mind when packing for your summer visit to the Walt Disney World Resort that afternoon rain will be a strong possibility! Happy Planning for your special vacation!
