Beyoncé delivered an awesome Super Bowl 2013 performance with Destiny’s Child as a special guest. Nevertheless, R&B singer Keyshia Cole gave off negative energy towards Destiny’s child Michelle Williams by tweeting, "F--- that s--- up then Beyoncé! Bad bitch central #AllGirlEverything," Keyshia goes even further by saying, “I think I was frightened to blink for a sec. Then Michelle sung and woke my ass up from my daze! She always f---N the groove up." Ladies, why is it that we refuse to support and lift another sister up rather than tear them down. Michelle did a great job. My mother always told me if you don’t have anything good to say then don’t say it at all.
Keyshia Cole’s negative comment towards Michelle reflects the negative epidemic which continues to spread throughout the entire world; ladies hating on one another. It’s time for a change. When a woman pushes negativity onto another woman it exposes the insecurities within that woman who is giving off the negative energy. Basically ladies, when you put another woman down you are really putting yourself down. If you wish to receive positivity then you must give positivity. Ladies, the next time you see a beautiful sister, don’t talk about her but lift her up. When I am out and I see a beautiful sister, whether she has a lovely hair doo or beautiful shoes I always take the time to say, “Girl, those shoes are hot!” or “Girl, your hair is gorgeous!” I am able to do this because it takes nothing from me to compliment my fellow sister no matter what her race is. All women are beautiful and different and we as women need to stand united. No longer will we tear another woman down. However, should you feel the need to down another woman then it’s time to do a self- check. There’s no reason to be negative or hate on another woman because remember, if you give out negativity you will receive negativity in return.
Keyshia Cole’s comment was inappropriate and disrespectful. However, I commend Michelle by responding to the negative attack against her with a positive response, “It was an honor to share the stage with my sisters Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé on Sunday night. To all my ladies, we must learn to stick together and support each other. The incredible Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson did an amazing job too! Thank you to my sister Beyoncé for sharing your moment with Destiny's Child. Love you! To all my ladies, we must learn to stick together and support each other," Michelle didn’t give in to the negative vibe that Keyshia tried to place upon her but rather she stayed professional and positive which is a note all women should take. Don’t follow Keyshia Cole’s negative example but rather take a quick note from Michelle and remain the bigger woman. Will my real ladies please stand up!
Now is the time to stop this negative cycle. Now is the time for change! I charge you to give an honest compliment to your fellow sister and watch how good you feel and how good you made your fellow sister feel. The positive energy you give out will come back to you with no limitations. Will my real ladies please stand up with NO limitations! Let’s go!
