During the first few episodes of Real World: Cancun, Jasmine lacked any type of real personality. When any of the girls in the house got into arguments with the guys, it seemed like Jasmine was always easily strung along to support the girls even when she had nothing to do with it in the first place.
After a few episodes of Jasmine being void of character, she is now bursting with personality - but not in a good way. During the first episode, we saw the bubbly, outgoing valley girl that just wanted to fit in. On many of the Real World dailies, we saw the tough, fast-talking Jasmine that put up with no one's attitude. However, during her most embarrassing moments with Pat, she became the unrelentless, over-aggressive Jasmine that was fine with letting a guy step all over her if she could just get sex in exchange - which still did not happen.
This may be a stretch, but it sometimes seems that Jasmine struggles with being the only African-American woman in the house. In one behind-the-scenes clip, she admitted that she did not have her first black friend until she was almost in high school. This may explain the over-the-top, often racially stereotypical behavior she displays when she gets angry or drinks too much. Is this the real Jasmine?
In that same clip, she was emotional because after going out to a restaurant with the roommates, a customer made a racist comment about her. None of the roommates really seemed to understand why she was so upset, and she did not have anyone in the house that seemed to think it was a big deal.
Jasmine may need someone that can relate her and understand her if she is indeed having trials because she is the only black woman there. If this is the case, one would think that Jonna and Jasmine would be closer to one another (since Jonna is bi-racial). However, those two have been too busy fighting over Pat to get to know one another. Jonna seems to be fine with not interacting with females if she can get a guy's attention instead.
The controversial clip below is the side of Jasmine that is embarrassing, insulting and not very genuine. You must be at least 18 years old to view this clip.
In the past seasons of the Real World, there have been quite a variety of black and bi-racial women that have had so many different and wonderful personalities; however, unlike Jasmine, many of them have had distinct personalities that we will never forget. Think back to Bri of Real World: Hollywood, Coral of Real World: Back to New York , Arissa and Irulan of Real World: Las Vegas, and Melissa from Real World: New Orleans. They may not have been liked by everyone, but we will never forget them.
Who is Jasmine, and is she even memorable?

tia you said it, no joke. real world is becoming a joke when they use the tagline 7 strangers, picked to live together, have their lives filed, learn & change". now its seem its not a "stepping" stone to get your "tv personality" out in the world for a possible MTV VJ job! instead of simply interacting with & leanring to understand different kinds of people & accepting the trials. because that is what life is about and that is what real world was in the beginning....
