Will the real ‘Franco’ please stand up?

The word according to Roger Friedman of Showbiz 411 is that James Franco may head back to ‘General Hospital.’

But this time around, fans will see a twist – James Franco will play himself – the successful actor, James Franco we all love. Confused? Keep reading.

James Franco originally played the eccentric artist ‘Bobby Frank’ on the ABC soap. Back then, ‘Franco’ was a complete sociopath, and we liked the character in spite of that.

At the moment, the character of ‘Franco’ is being played by veteran soap actor Roger Howarth.

Friedman says he got the Franco dish straight from the horse’s mouth – sort of. According to Friedman, ‘General Hospital’s’ Head Writer, Ron Carlivati really wants Franco to come back.

According to Friedman, Carlivati ‘wants the real Franco to make one more return.’

‘I think the idea is that the multi-tasking actor would play himself, and I guess confront the fictitious Franco,’ Friedman shared.

At the moment, the James Franco return is just wishful thinking on the part of Carlivati. The actor has yet to make any statement regarding a return to ‘General Hospital.’

It seems almost anything is possible on ‘GH’ lately, right? We continue to see the return of many favorites from the past. And the soap gets better every day. So a James Franco return isn’t so far-fetched.

‘General Hospital’ airs weekdays at 2pm on Detroit’s local ABC affiliate WXYZ Channel 7.
