Check out this trailer for the upcoming sci-fi film, 'After Earth'. In it Will Smith stars as Cypher Raige while Jaden, appropriately, stars as his son, Kitai. While traveling through space on some mysterious errand the pair's ship crash lands on a hostile, deserted planet. One which, a thousand years earlier, was the source of all human life. A place formerly known as Earth.
Due to some unseen catastrophe befalling the planet a thousand years previous to their arrival all of humanity had abandoned Earth. Now Cypher and Kitai find themselves stranded in a place at once familiar and terrifying. Earth has been overrun by hyper-evolved animal species that have filled in the gap which was vacated by humanity. Also, a highly dangerous alien creature escapes from their ship and is now on the prowl. The father son duo, who haven't always been on the best of terms in their own personal lives, must work together if they have any hope of surviving in this dangerous new world.
This film marks the first time the father and son duo have starred onscreen together since their 2006 hit, 'Pursuit of Happyness'. 'After Earth' will be directed by M. Night Schyamalan.
Will and Jaden return to the blue planet on June 7.
