Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith reveal their marriage secrets on 'Oprah' (Video)

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are a rarity in Hollywood--two people who love each other and manage to stay together despite the glare of the media spotlight.  On Monday, the couple appeared on "Oprah," revealing secrets that they believe to be the key to a happy, successful marriage.

“If you don’t have a goal, if you don’t have a purpose for your relationship, you can get lost in the murk of the journey,” said Will. "There has to be a vision. Why are we together? An answer for why two spirits would join together and travel this perilous journey of life together. 'You’re fine, you can cook, you can keep the house together' - that’s not enough. There’s so much more you have to be dedicated to."

Jada chimed in, telling Oprah that once their children came into the world--the couple are parents to Jaden, 11, and Willow, 9, as well as Trey, 17, a son from Will's previous marriage--their goals needed to be altered a bit.

“Once we started to see how the children were growing… we decided that we wanted to make a family business, [asking], how do we incorporate all the talent we have in this family.”

It looks like the couple will find success on that front too, as their son Jaden will star in "The Karate Kid" opposite Jackie Chan this summer.

The couple also talked about how they keep their marriage spicy, which apparently includes a cell phone that's capable of taking photos.

"Well even during the day I might send a sexy picture of some sort," Jada said. "Just a reminder of what's waiting at home. And if he's on the set with me, on the set of 'Hawthorne,' he might take a little break."

I love this beautiful strong couple. They deal with whatever comes their way with such strength. Young couples, you too can be just as strong. Don't be so quick to throw in the towel. Stand for something, as I see this couple does; lest you fall for anything.
