In 2011 Microsoft bought online video giant Skype for $8.5 billion; now a Skype employee hints that Microsoft is throwing around the idea of integrating the two for the Xbox 720 next gen console. This concept is not too hard to believe with Xbox seemingly obsessed with trying to oust Sony on the front of gamers being internet connected. Skype would bring an extra element to that connectivity with gamers now being connected visually. Xbox live has always had sound and text but now for gamers to be able to add another sense to the experience would be a huge development. Could a game benefit from using video elements such as Skype?
Nothing has actually been confirmed by Microsoft, so for now this is nothing more than a rumor. Leave a comment below and let me know what you think Skype would add to gaming. Would it enhance an aspect of your experience? Would you even use it?
