Will Scandal’s Kerry Washington be exchanging Burberry for her new bundle of joy

We all have come to know her best as Olivia, on ABC’s “Scandal”. As Oliva, Kerry Washington, age 37, has averted many a scandal under the roof of the White House. Now, it seems as if Washington has put some of those practices to use in her personal life. Washington and her husband, Nnamdi Asomugha (full nameEzenwa Nnamdi Onyekachi Asomugha), age 32, quietly gave birth to a baby girl, Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha, nearly two weeks ago.

Kerry Marisa Washington, born on January 31, 1977, to Earl and Valeri Washington, is a New York Native. Not only is she beautiful, but she is beautifully gifted. As an actress, she has garnered some heavy hitting roles with several veteran actors, on television and on the big screen. (Washington has appeared in NYPD Blue, Law & Order, Ray, Django Unchained, For Colored Girls … and of course, Scandal.)

Scandal is where Washington broke the mold and became the one that most girls want to be like. In 2013, Washington landed a spot in People’s 100 Most Beautiful in 2013, ranking number 2.

Kerry Washington’s beautiful image was no doubt in part due to the magical works of Scandal’s costume designer, Lyn Paolo. Paolo had the brilliant epiphany to pair Washington’s beautiful silhouette with the designer brand, Burberry, know for their exquisite trench coats. Among other awards that she has received, Vanity Fair named Kerry Washington, as Oliva Pope, one of The Top Ten Best-Dressed TV Characters in 2013.

The year 2013 proved to be very profitable for Kerry Washington, as she not only picked up a slew of roles and awards, but she also gained a new title, “Mrs”. On June 24, 2013, Washington married her husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, in Idaho.

Asomugha (whose full name is Ezenwa Nnamdi Onyekachi Asomugha), was born on July 6, 1981, to Godfrey and Lilian Asomugha. He is a former NFL Raiders and 49ers cornerback. Asomugha also has the Asomugha Foundation, which is an education and international development initiative.

Shortly after their marriage, Asmougha and Washington announced their impending arrival of their first child. With Scandal’s success showing no sign of waning, Washington continued to do what she does best, showing up and showing out to “handle it”. Paolo also answered the call of duty to find innovative ways to cover up Washington’s ever growing abdomen. Paolo’s fashion items of chose were some of the most eloquent Burberry garments available, mixed in with strategically placed cameras and props.

But, probably the most well played move, though, has to be the move that Asmougha and Washington made to secretly give birth to their daughter…and their ability to keep it a secret for two weeks! Many a celebrity has tried for a private moment but not many achieve it. Two weeks out of the spotlight for the lay person may seem like a lifetime to a celebrity. Many can’t believe it is true, including her fellow actor and co-star, Tony Goldwyn. But, it is true.

Yes, that’s right! On April 21, 2014, at Cedar Sanai Medical Center of Los Angeles, Nnamdi Asmougha and wife, Kerry Washington, welcomed their baby girl, Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha.

As we say congratulations, we hang onto bated breath wondering if welcoming their new bundle of joy will mean saying goodbye to Olive Pope doned in Burberry. Only time will tell, as we eagerly await the beginning of season 4 of ABC’s “Scandal”.
