Will profantity-laced comment cause Joe and Teresa Giudice to divorce?

Rumors that Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice are headed for divorce have been circulating for at least a year. On the Sunday August 19, 2012 episode of the RHONJ, Joe Giudice adds fuel to the fire when he speaks negatively of his wife to an unknown caller while the cast is on vacation in Napa.

The RHONJ cast are enjoying Caroline Manzo’s fiftieth birthday dinner sunset in a vineyard in Napa when Giudice says, “Hold on one second, I gotta call my work.” Giudice then leaves the table and goes off camera.

In a conversation with an unknown caller, Giudice says, “Hey, how you doing? Oh! Don’t even tell me that!”

Viewers hear Giudice tell the unknown caller, “We’re actually celebrating Caroline’s 50th birthday here.” Teresa then gets up from the table to find out what Joe Giudice is doing and bring him back to the party.

“Hold on. Here she comes. My bitch wife. She’s such a c***.”

This is not the first time Teresa Giudice has been the target of a profanity-laced, on-camera rant by her husband Joe. On the May 20, 2012 RHONJ episode, Teresa tried to explain her feelings to her husband Joe and he let loose with a string of curses.

Adding more fuel to the divorce rumors is the fact that on July 30, 2012 Joe Giudice rejected a plea bargain that would have sent him to prison for five years. Giudice has chosen instead to go to trial on October 1, 2012 on the charges of obtaining a false driver's license, according to the New Jersey Record.

In December 2011 “Juicy Joe” was indicted on charges that he used his brother Pietro Giudice’s birth certificate and marriage license to obtain a driver’s license. Joe Giudice’s driver’s license was suspended in 2010 as a result of a DUI arrest.

If found guilty at trial, Giudice could spend up to ten years in prison, leaving his RHONJ star wife Teresa and their four daughters to fend for themselves financially. Assistant Prosecutor Jay McCann said that if he had taken the plea bargain, because of his relatively clean record with no other serious offenses, Joe may have been eligible for probation.

Giudice’s defense team has speculated that the state is taking a tough approach to his case because of his celebrity status. The fact that Joe Giudice showed up late to his July court appearance probably did not help his case.

The Prosecutor assures that Joe Giudice’s "celebrity" has nothing to do with it, and that a "driver's license is considered the most secure document and the one the state relies upon most to prove identity and any tampering with the integrity of the driver's license is a serious offense."

Teresa Giudice did not attend her husband's court appearance, claiming she stayed away so as not to "create a media circus."
