Just when you thought things in our nation couldn't get any more bizarre a group of Tea Party truckers is planning to shut Washington, DC down for three days from October 11 to the 13th. In addition to tying up the Capitol Beltway the group plans to arrest Congress people they believe have violated their oaths of office. That turns out to be mostly Democratic members of Congress, demonstrating yet again how pathetically stupid this group is and how little they understand the Constitution they claim they are defending.
Earl Conlon one of the organizers of the logistics of this demonstration and identified as a spokesperson, states the group isn't calling for impeachment just the arrest of members of Congress involved in the government shutdown. Those mainly identified were Democratic Party members like Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Diane Feinstein.
Conlon plans to convene a group of citizens without approval by any court as a grand Jury. This will be the mechanism for indicting the Congress people. Conlon has even identified arresting President Barack Obama.
Unfortunately for Conlon, the only people who may be arrested for violating the law may be Conlon and his fellow truckers. When they place those they feel have violated their oaths of office under arrest, they could be guilty of kidnapping. Conlon, by the way, believes Obama is the anti-Christ, something that doesn't lend credence to either his beliefs or actions.
I think it is ironic that HR 347, originally dubbed the anti Occupy Law, because of how it could be used to deprive protesters of their Constitutional rights to demand a redress of grievances and seemed aimed at dismantling this groups style of protest, may now be put into play. All that would need to be done is between now and October 11 declare the White House and the Capitol building protected properties and Conlon and his fellow truckers could be prosecuted and jailed for up to 10 years for trespass on restricted grounds.
More than that I have one question as this protest nears, given what happened to a mentally ill unarmed black woman named Miriam Carey, will the police be shooting this group which has made threats, if things get ugly, to do what they need to do, clearly a potentially violence threatening statement, or will our police treat them with kid gloves because this group is white so that then we will know that only protesting while black and mentally ill is a capital offence?
