Will my iPhone automatically adjust the time for Daylight Savings Time?

It used to be that when it came to adjusting our clocks for Daylight Savings Time, we would just do so manually on our electronics, such as our VHS/DVD players, microwaves, oven timers, etcetera.  But a common question that comes around for those of us who work the day after the time adjusts is, "Will my iPhone automatically adjust the time for Daylight Savings Time?"

Daylight Savings Time for 2011 happens between Saturday night and Sunday morning on March 13th, 2011.  Which means that at 2:00am in the morning, the clocks are adjusted forward, therefore causing us all to lose an hour of much-needed sleep.  When this occurs, though, it can wreak havoc on schedules.

When it comes to your iPhone adjusting the time for Daylight Savings Time, you can check your settings to see if your phone is set up to do so on it's own.  Go into your iPhone's "Settings" section, and select "General" from the list.  Scroll down to "Date and Time" and select.  You should have an option on the next page to "Set Automatically."  If this is turned on, then your iPhone will automatically change the time for you as it goes off of satellite time with your cellular service provider.  If it is turned off, however, then it is up to you to change the time accordingly.
