Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" is all the rage. On Sept. 13, 2013, Billboard reported that the song will probably hit No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 in the coming week. Currently, Katy Perry's "Roar" tops the chart. Billboard will update the list on Sept. 18. If Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" hits the number one spot, it will be the first time for the 20-year-old singer. Her other recently popular song, "We Can't Stop," got as high as number two on the chart.
Negative reaction from the public on the tongue wagging, foam finger, twerking VMAs performance, which resulted in at least 160 FCC complaints, was increased with Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball." The singer swings around naked ("naughty bits" covered) on a huge wrecking ball, and she also licks a sledgehammer. The actions prove once and for all that Miley's Disney days are long gone.
But none of the controversy can stop the actions or the attitude of the performer. Miley seems to be ignoring her haters by focusing on the huge views she's received for the video on Vevo and on YouTube and on the excitement of having a number one hit. On YouTube, for example, Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" is currently at over 97 million views. "Lets get Wrecking Ball to 100 million by Sunday?!" Miley tweeted on Sept. 15.
