Will Michael Jackson’s body be at the Staples Center for the memorial service? According to TMZ, he will; according to other reports, he won’t. The Jackson family is having a private ceremony at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles, California. They were there last night, and a hearse was spotted. This morning, they return at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time to hold their ceremony. Speculation has alluded to the fact that their service might cause the Staples Memorial to run a little late, and understandably so. Though the public and fans want to celebrate Michael Jackson’s life, the utmost respect must be for his family first.
Some reports point to the fact that Michael Jackson will be buried today, at Forest Lawn Cemetery after the private family ceremony. Directly following the ceremony, they family will travel to the Staples Center to attend the public memorial. TMZ reports that Michael Jackson’s coffin will be in tow, and that he will take center stage at the Center. At this point, there is nothing but speculation. A little patience is in order, and respect is due to the Jackson family, should they decide it is best to bury Michael Jackson in their own private ceremony.
Regardless of whether Michael Jackson’s coffin arrives at the Staples Center, one thing is certain. He will be with all of the attendees in celebratory spirit. Fans from around the world will tune in to broadcasts on television, radio, the Internet, in movie theaters, and in the Center itself. They will rejoice in the music that Michael Jackson brought to their lives. In his music, Michael Jackson will be remembered, honored, and celebrated. Through his music, Michael Jackson will be there in spirit.
