After the Harrison Ford rumors from last week, the "Star Wars: Episode VII" casting talk is really heating up. Now everyone is interested in whether or not there will be a Mark Hamill return? The actor himself told Entertainment Tonight on Feb. 20 that he plans on returning but they are still in talks.
Hamill said that the news of the new movies, as well as the spinoffs is "very exciting and so unexpected." He even went as far as to compare it to find a $20 bill in an old pair of pants. He let the site know that George Lucas wondered if Hamill and Carrie Fisher were interested in returning, and if not that Disney would just write the characters out of the script and not replace them with other actors.
That proves that, while Disney is moving in a new direction, they still respect the actors that came before.
When it comes to the actual plot, Hamill said he knows nothing about it but is very intrigued. He did elaborate that he agreed with the news that the new movies will feature the offspring of Luke and Leia. He also assumes that Luke Skywalker will be the new Obi-Wan character in the new movies, as a mentor.
So, will there be a Mark Hamill return? If you ask the actor, he seems to hope so.
