Will "Jane Got a Gun' be finished on time? Director and actors walking out

Will “Jane Got a Gun” ever get finished? Monday, helmer Lynne Ramsay made a rather fast exit from the project. Jude Law has formally left the role he was signed for. Is the film ever going to see the big screen?

Jude Law backed out due to his former work with Ramsay in “We Need to Talk About Kevin.” Law signed on for the role in “Jane Got a Gun” because Ramsay was in charge. Now that Ramsay took a hike, Law decided to follow abruptly.

The producers made thwarted attempts to keep the cast together when Ramsay left but Law is the second of cast members to back out of the deal. Michael Fassbender left due to a scheduling conflict with the upcoming “X-Men” project and was replaced by Joel Edgerton.

Updates will be made as more information comes in on what has caused this abrupt walk-out scenario on the set.

(Update: Gavin O’Connor is in talks to be the director to get the picture back into production mode. O’Connor is the writer-director known for his work on “Warrior,” “Pride and Glory,” “Miracle” and “Tumbleweeds.” )

I have been a film critic for years. As a writer, I love to experience the writer's art as it comes alive on the screen.
