Will Iran Retaliate Against the United States

The tensions in the middle east between Iran and Israel seem to keep growing and there are recent concerns that Iran could and would retaliate against the U.S. if they are attacked. Recently, Israel has said that they would attack Iran before the U.S. Presidential elections. Iran has been testing long range missiles and vowed to use these missiles against U.S. bases and naval ships if they are provoked. Iran has said that the U.S. bases are in range of the missiles and they could reach the targets within minutes if Iran is attacked.

The United States has moved a significant amount of military reinforcements into the persian gulf The message to Iran by the U.S. Defense Departement is "don't even think about it". The build up comes mainly in the form of Naval warships and mine sweepers patrolling the waters south of Iran. Military war planes have also been sent to U.S. bases in the region.

The U.S. policy toward the region now is about militarily threatening Iran by surrounding the country with a military build up.

Iran has announced recently that have comprehensive contingency plans to attack 35 U.S. military bases within minutes after an attack on Iran. The recent revelations of a possible cyberattack by the U.S. on Iran's nuclear facilities could have triggered Iran's threat against the U.S.

A former CIA spy suggests that Iran has terrorist sleeper cells within the United States equipped with money, weapons and safe houses. Allegedly, the terrorist cells use Mexico and Latin America drug cartels to smuggle weapons and explosives into the U.S. They also have detailed information on sensitive sites such as tunnels, bridges and water plants.

If Iran is attacked by Israel or the U.S., sleeper terrorist cells within the United States can launch suicide bombings and sabotage.

There is a lot of tension and anxiety over the possible Iran conflict and the American people need to be kept aware of what is going on.
