This past summer, Hugh Jackman returned to his iconic role as Logan in The Wolverine. Not only did Hugh Jackman come back as the popular mutant, but he will reprise his role again next summer in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Plus, it has been suggested Jackman will team up with director Jim Mangold again for another Wolverine stand alone film. However, will the actor take up his adamantium claws for another film? In an interview with Variety Fair, Jackman is uncertain that he will be coming back for another film.
I don’t know whether or not I will do this next movie. I am really proud of this movie and I am excited to develop something with Jim Mangold from the beginning because that is a great ride. That’s exciting, to see what we come up with but I have a very high expectation of what it would need to be [for me to star in it] and if it doesn’t reach those, I won’t be doing it.
Hugh Jackman also pointed out that the script for the third Wolverine film has not been written. It has only been discussed between Mangold and Jackman. More to the point, Hugh Jackman said that, for the time being, he is not committed to any X-Men projects following next summer's Days of Future Past. However only time will tell if Hugh Jackman will become Wolverine once more for another stand alone film, or even X-Men: Apocalypse.
X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23, 2014, while The Wolverine is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
