Punk, 35, walked away from the WWE following this year's Royal Rumble, but he's expected to come back to the promotion tonight at Wrestlemania 30.
Punk's popularity never faded even though three months have passed since he left the WWE. Every city the WWE has visited since Punk left has featured fans chanting his name, so it's clear WWE Universe still has love for him.
Several media outlets are reporting that Punk will battle former WWE superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin on the main card of Wrestlemania 30.
However, it would make more sense for Punk to be part of Wrestlemania 30's Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
The battle, which will be part of the Wrestlemania 30 main card, is set to feature 30 WWE superstars, but only 27 have been announced.
Three surprise entrants will be entered into the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, which means there's a good chance Punk will be one of them.
The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal participants announced so far are: Alberto Del Rio, Big E, Big Show, Brad Maddox, Brodus Clay, Christian, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, Darren Young, Dolph Ziggler, Fandango, Drew McIntyre, Goldust, The Great Khali, Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal, Justin Gabriel, Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, The Miz, Rey Mysterio, Sheamus, R-Truth, Santino Marella, Sin Cara, Titus O'Neil, and Zack Ryder.
With three men yet to be announced, could Punk be one of them?
Time will tell how the situation will play out, but the only way for WWE fans to know for sure is by tuning in to Wrestlemania 30.
The event, which goes down Apr. 6 at the Superdown in New Orleans, begins at 7 p.m. on pay-per-view.
